 South Street Seaport Engagement Session | A + J

Alissa and Jason are friends of mine; some of the best subjects to photograph, truthfully. This weekend we set out to take some photos in honor of their engagement earlier this year. The wedding will be in 2012. We decided upon South Street Seaport as the backdrop to our session because the location had significance to both Alissa and Jason. I was excited to work with them here because it’s also one of my favorite places. A few fond memories of my childhood bring me here. And although it’s now a much different place, it’s nice to still be able to form warm memories to the Seaport.

I always wanted to try one of these multi-exposure shots with a couple. I managed to pull it off without a tripod.

Even though it was a cloudy grey day, using an off camera strobe makes it look like the sun is out, doesn’t it?

My love of portrait photography at the core stems from my curiosity and interest in people’s lives. Being a New Yorker puts me in touch with so many people at any given moment that it fuels my curiosity like no other place on the east coast probably could. As Brooklyn wedding photographers, Michele and I have experience serving a diverse clientele which continues to increase at an exponential rate every year.
I love meeting other New Yorkers, and it takes no time before many of our clients are getting along just as old friends might. It’s during Engagement sessions and weddings when Michele and I shine brightest, as we love exploring the dynamic between couples through photography. We look forward to working with ALL couples to make you look natural and your best!
