Brooklyn Engagement Session | Amy + Mike

Meet Mike & Amy

They’re a young couple living in Brooklyn NY. They plan to get married in 2011 and have recently booked me to take their engagement photos. Working pretty quickly, we scheduled the best day to accommodate our schedules, with special attention to the weather forecast. Saturday September 11, 2010 turned out to be one of the best days for photography that I’ve seen in a while.

We tread on local grounds, the scene was Fulton ferry landing and the Brooklyn promenade. The cityscape, vast open sky, and great weather always make for some of the most dynamic, yet serene vistas available in Brooklyn.

Here are some of the frames from our session:

I took note of the juxtaposition of a married couple posing just behind them a short distance away and decided to put them into the frame. Mike and Amy appear to be looking into a somewhat distant future- where they’re officially husband and wife.

My love of portrait photography at the core stems from my curiosity and interest in people’s lives. Being a New Yorker puts me in touch with so many people at any given moment that it fuels my curiosity like no other place on the east coast probably could. As Brooklyn wedding photographers, Michele and I have experience serving a diverse clientele which continues to increase at an exponential rate every year.
I love meeting other New Yorkers, and it takes no time before many of our clients are getting along just as old friends might. It’s during Engagement sessions and weddings when Michele and I shine brightest, as we love exploring the dynamic between couples through photography. We look forward to working with ALL couples to make you look natural and your best!
