Cav & Julia | New York Proposal Photography
Wedding season is soon upon us, and fittingly, proposals are where it all begins. We're really happy to see this type of request continue togrow for us, and unsurprisingly, we have one of my clients from last year to thank for a referral to today's session.
Cav is another friend of Nicks' that reached out to me about a month ago outlining his plans to surprise his girlfriend, Julia. I understood that we'd be waiting in Washington Square Park with both of the couples' parents and immediate family until the couple strolled through the arch, and then Cav would propose immediately thereafter.
Lucky for us the Saturday of the event turned out to be the warmest and clearest day we've seen in many weeks. Spring was in the process of ...springing, and everyone was enjoying the day outside in the park, which posed a certain challenge for a shoot like this. I was worried that the mark that Cav and I discussed could be obstructed by other folks enjoying the day outside - in much a similar fashion as the public is known to do when the best laid plans of a public proposal are in play.
Fortunately, with Michele as my second shooter I could mitigate the potential for public obstruction by having her position herself in a different location than I am, increasing the odds of capturing the decisive moment we're after.
