Meet Carlos

Carlos-Thomas-Portrait-153_Edit-3Thanks for visiting my corner of the web, where I hope you’ll get some insight into my experience and world.

I’ve lived in Brooklyn most of my life, and I picked up photography fairly early on. Ever since then I’ve been borderline obsessed with the technology and medium that gives us the ability to freeze moments in time.

As my journey in photography progressed, and as I matured, I wanted to do more than just record the objective world around me. I wanted to record the emotions and people around me, and thus began my path into portrait and wedding photography in 2009.

A bit more about me…Well I’m not your typical New yorker, or man,  or neighbor, or guy sitting across from you on the subway; so that’s why you should try your darn’est to setup a meeting with me to see what I’m all about.

For starters though, I love all science, but neuroscience in particular. I follow several areas of research regarding the brain, from disease, the organizational and molecular underpinnings of behavior, and last but not least, the subject referred to as neurophilosophy (as coined by Patricia Churchland).
I’m the last child of three, an only son, and I was born in Trinidad & Tobago, West  Indies.

I love Sci-fi, but prefer to read non-fiction. I’m a tinkerer by nature and I love DIY projects that flex my creative and problem solving muscles. I often spend nights working on several projects at once-whether it’s tinkering with electronics, camera gear, or writing for one of my several blogs- that’s just how I like to do it!

I have an eclectic sense of nearly everything cultural ; including music, movies, and food, but not so much in books, as I said before, I prefer non-fiction science & philosophy subjects. Lately, it’s a lot of global/societal current events that I’ve been reading.

Last but not least, if we’re working together on a wedding you’ll meet my lovely girlfriend Michele, whom I believe exists to sprinkle sunshine whereever she goes. She assists me on my engagement shoots, during weddings, and I couldn’t do as much without her by my side, not in a lifetime.

Now, when do I get to meet YOU!? I know you couldn’t be the average joe either, having read this far down a long ABOUT page. I love working with the quirky client and shooting the atypical wedding, but either way I’d love to hear from you after having spilled my guts , so hit that Contact me button.

Contact me if you’re interested in talking to me about shooting your wedding or engagement session !

Thanks again for stopping by, come again!
