One of the things I have any bit of pride in, is in my ability to solve problems in the field. When it gets gritty, I like to flex my creativity. This is part of the reason I get a thrill out of wedding event photography, actually. I can never predict or anticipate for every eventuality, and so I often have to engineer solutions as they’re needed.
Well, forget all I just said about getting to flex my creativity, because this little kit nearly does it all in one arena, and as much as I might like to take credit for its inception, it wasn’t my idea to boot.
That’s what makes having a second pair of eyes, and a second set of neurons useful when it comes to shooting weddings. One person ab-so-lutely cannot prepare, by his-herself, for all scenarios.
Michele suggested, that along with all of the normal gear, and back-up gear I pack before a wedding, that we also prepare a bridal emergency kit.
The kit would contain a variety of items diverse in their function, but all purposed and demonstrative of keeping an eye on the brides appearance, comfort, and her well-being. It contains a needle, thread, buttons, moist towlettes, advil, clear nail polish, a nail file, and a few other items tedious to list right now.
The Bridal Emergency Kit officially made it onto my pre-wedding checklist this summer, so I’m sure to never again leave home without one. Now, I only need to brush up on my sewing technique…
